The corona cases is surging in Maharashtra, and even the celebrities are not getting spared. On April 4, the B’town actor Akshay Kumar tests positive for Covid. He was isolating himself and was self-quarantined at home. Later he was shifted to hospital.
A day after he gets tests positive for coronavirus, it has been confirmed that 45 crew members of his film Ram Setu sets have also tested positive for the virus.
BN Tiwari, President, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), had confirm the news and said that "They all have been quarantined after testing positive. Out of those, 40 were junior artistes while the rest were Akshay's makeup team, their assistants. Now the shooting has been halted indefinitely."
The filming is set to be started from April 5 on Madh Island off the coast of Maharashtra, which has now been halted. Nearly 100 crews had already geared up for the shoot. Akshay to play as an archaeologist in this film. The film also starrer Nushrat Bharucha and Jacqueline Fernandez.
Meanwhile Akshay Kumar tweeted from hospital: "I am doing fine but as a precautionary measure under medical advice, I have been hospitalised."
