Karan Johar's film 'Dostana 2' has been in the news for some time now. A few days back, Kartik Aaryan was dropped from the film due to his “creative differences” and unprofessional behaviour. An anonymous source stated that Karan Johar has personally requested Akshay to come on board for Dostana 2 and help him out, as a lot of money has already been invested in the shoot of the film.
Karan's Dharma production has already suffered a loss of over Rs 20 crore after Kartik Aaryan's exit. The latest update states that Akshay has agreed to do the film and has also finalized the dates for the shoot but no official confirmation on the casting from Karan and Akshay Kumar yet.
The film is a sequel of Dostana, 2008 in which Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham were in the lead roles. Dostana 2 is a romantic comedy starring Janhvi Kapoor and debutant Laksh Lalwani. Reportedly the story is about a brother and sister duo falling for the same man.
Akshay will be seen in many films like Anand L Rai’s Raksha Bandhan, Atrangi Re, Ram Setu, and Bellbottom which is currently on hold due to Corona lockdown.
