Ask Vivek Agnihotri to upload The Kashmir Files on YouTube: Kejriwal tells BJP

“Some people have earned crores in the name of Kashmiri Pandits and you have been given the work of just putting up the posters,”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday took a dig at opposition Bhartiya Janata Party over the party’s demand to declare the Kashmir Files film tax-free in Kejriwal-led Delhi.

While speaking in the assembly, Delhi CM said BJP should ask Vivek Agnihotri, director of The Kashmir Files, to upload the movie on YouTube so as to make it free for all.

“BJP wants The Kashmir Files to be tax-free, if the BJP has so much passion for it, ask Vivek Agnihotri to upload it on YouTube, the full picture will be free, all people can see it in a day, why make it tax-free,” Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal's comment on the movie came a day after the BJP MLAs interrupted the ongoing assembly session on Wednesday and called for making The Kashmir Files tax-free.

He further added, “Some people have earned crores in the name of Kashmiri Pandits and you have been given the work of just putting up the posters,”.

The Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir valley during the 1990s insurgency. The film is having a dream run at Box Office and has minted more than 200 crores so far. Several BJP led states including Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat have exempted the movie from taxes.
