Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone is all set to play the lead role in a cross-cultural romantic comedy, switching back to Hollywood.
The film is to be produced under her Ka Productions banner along with STXFilms and Temple Hill.
Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen from Temple Hill Productions, known for the movies like the Twilight franchise and The Fault in Our Stars, are planning with Deepika about the new project. Isaac Klausner is overseeing the movie from the production house.
Deepika said that the Ka Productions was founded with the aim of producing meaningful content that will have global appeal and she is very excited to be joining hands with STXFilms and Temple Hill.
The chairman of STXFilms Motion Picture group, Adam Fogelson said "Deepika is enormously talented and one of the biggest global stars to come from India. While she has attained a lot of success in a number of Eros International Films, we are looking forward to putting together a romantic comedy with her and Temple Hill Productions. We believe that this project will give us the opportunity to tap into the spirit and vibrant settings of India and New York in ways that made Crazy Rich Asians feel authentic".
Deepika is preparing for all her upcoming movies and is set to release back to back hits.
