Digvijaya Singh slams Vivek Agnihotri over his 'Homosexual' remark for Bhopalis

"Vivek Agnihotri Ji, this could be your experience, but not that of the Bhopal citizens. I have been in Bhopal and with the people since 77, but I never had this experience. Wherever you stay, there's always an influence on the company you keep."

Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh slammed the director of Kashmir Files Vivek Agnihotri over his remark in which he said that people of Bhopal are often assumed to be homosexuals for their 'nawabi desires'.

Digvijaya Singh said, "Vivek Agnihotri Ji, this could be your experience, but not that of the Bhopal citizens. I have been in Bhopal and with the people since 77, but I never had this experience. Wherever you stay, there's always an influence on the company you keep."

Vivek Agnihotri received huge backlash on social media over his comment after the clip emerged where he is seen saying "I am from Bhopal, but I do not call myself a Bhopali because that carries a certain connotation. If someone calls himself a Bhopali, it generally means that person is a homosexual.. someone with 'nawabi 'fantasies.”.

BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya when asked about the statement, dodged the question by saying he was from Indore and Vivek Agnijhotri only should be questioned for it.
