Kangana Ranaut to direct a film on Indira Gandhi titled Emergency; says 'no one can direct it better than me'

The actress revealed that the project is penned by the famous Screenwriter Ritesh Shah

Controversy Queen Kangana Ranaut recently announced her second directorial project titled Emergency based on the life of the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her social media handles.


Few days back, she underwent a face-scanning session as part of the pre-production stage for the film about which she informed her fans through her Instagram.


Kangana stated, "Pleased to wear director's hat again, after working on Emergency for more than a year I finally figured no one can direct it better than me."


The National Award-winning actor also revealed that the project will be penned by Ritesh Shah who has penned films like Pink, Kahaani, Kahaani 2, D-Day, Rocky Handsome and among others to his credit. Ranaut has also clarified that film Emergency is a political drama and not a biopic of the first lady Prime Minister.


At present, Kangana is currently awaiting for the release of her film Thalaivi where she is essaying the role of Jayalalithaa, apart from this, she is also working in Dhaakad, Tejas and Manikarnika Returns:The Legend Of Didda.
