Objections raised against addition of film actors in Ram Lila at Ayodhya

The sage in Ayodhya are up in arms over the addition of bollywood actors in the Ram Lila planned during the Navratri in October.

 

Mahant Dharam Das of Hanuman Garhi temple, said that film actors should not be allowed to perform in Ram Lilas as they do not have “moral and religious discipline”.

 

He stated that the drama artistes who perform in Ram Lilas follows strict disciplinary norms in their lives and people bow before the artistes to seek blessings.

 

As per to reports, nearly 100 prominent priests from Ayodhya had met at Bada Bhakt Maal temple.

 

The temple is an important seat of Hindu religious studies in Ayodhya, on Tuesday and decided to ask an appointment with the Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and to get the ban the immoral Ram Lila.

 

The Bada Bhakt Maal temple's chief, Mahant Avadhesh Das Shastri said, “We cannot tolerate such people performing in Ram Lila in Ayodhya. They consume alcohol, eat non-vegetarian food and indulge in immoral practices.”

 

Mahant Pawan Kumar Das Shastri who is the Hindu Personal Law Board's secretary has pointed out that in 2020, when Bollywood stars staged Ram Lila, they wore ‘Mughal sherwani’ and leather shoes on the stage.

The chief priest of Bada Sthan templeMahant Janmejay Sharan said that they want Ram Lila to have the essence of ‘sanatan dharm’.

 

He added that they do not want Bollywood personalities who have destroyed the Hindu religion.

 

Director of the staged event, Subhash Malik has informed that Bhagyashree will play the role of Sita in multi-starrer Ram Lila, alongside actors, Arbaaz Khan, Raza Murad, Avatar Gill, Vindu Dara Singh among others.

The Ram Lila committee has orderly announced that the star-studded Ram Lila would be performed in the presence of UP law minister, Brajesh Pathak.
