Bollywood actor Radhika Madan made her big screen debut with Vishal Bhardwaj’s film ‘Pataakha’. And, she went on to play the female lead in ‘Angrezi Medium’ opposite the late Irrfan Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
But she started her career in 2014 with the Television show, ‘Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi’.
Recently, Radhika opened up to Humans of Bombay about the struggles she faced after quitting TV.
She also revealed how during film auditions she was told and explained the needs to have a particular shape and size as well as a surgery.
She auditioned at the age of 17 for ‘Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi’ and successfully bagged the role of the female lead.
Radhika also shares that lack of time and sleep lead her put on a little weight. She also added, “I got more TV offers, but I told myself, ‘You’re only 19, if you choose comfort, you’ll get stuck.’ So, I quit TV to do films. I began auditioning, but I faced rejections.”
Radhika shared that she didn’t get work for a long time but the actor found herself pretty and that’s what mattered the most for her.
Radhika said that she gained weight for a role to look older and auditioned for a teenage character, both in a month. The audition, for ‘Angrezi Medium’ turned out to be one of her best 'I got the part’ and added,“I had only one motto–just have fun."
Radhika was last in Netflix Anthology 'Ray' and soon will be seen in the film ‘Shiddat’ and the web series ‘Feels Like Ishq’.
