Norm Macdonald, one of the most popular Comedian-actor has passed away at the age of 61. The actor was suffering from cancer and was fighting privately for almost a decade. Norm did not want the public to know about his disease and struggles.
After the news of his demise surfaced, many well known members from the entertainment industry paid their last respects to Macdonald.
Comedian Dave Attel tweeted, "There was no one like Norm MacDonald; Every time I watched him perform was a gift. Thank you Norm ... thinking of you and your family on this sad day."
"I am absolutely devastated about Norm Macdonald. Norm had the most unique comedic voice I have ever encountered and he was so relentlessly and uncompromisingly funny. I will never laugh that hard again. I'm so sad for all of us today," Conan O'Brien said.
Seth Rogan, actor-comedian said, "I was a huge fan of Norm Macdonald and I essentially ripped off his delivery when I first started acting. I would stay up specifically to watch him on talk shows. He was the funniest guest of all time. We lost a comedy giant today. One of the all time greats. RIP," he grieved.
He was one of the most sardonic, witty, deadpan comedians known for his tenure as the anchor of "Weekend Update" on "Saturday Night Live".
He also launched a podcast called "Norm Macdonald Live" in 2013 and recently hosted a talk show titled "Norm Macdonald Has a Show" in 2018 on Netflix. The actor was all set to appear in the New York Comedy Festival lineup this November.
Macdonald was married to Connie Vaillancourt but they divorced in 1999. The comedian is now survived by their son, Dylan Macdonald.
