Despite controversies Golden Globe Awards to be held next year

HFPA released the traditional calendar with submission deadlines in various categories

Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has announced that they are planning to present the 79th annual Golden Globe Awards on 9 January, 2022. They are disregarding the controversies over racism and sexism in the journalists' body.

The American network NBC had disassociated itself from the event earlier this year and no telecast partner is in sight to replace them.

HFPA released the traditional calendar with submission deadlines in various categories. They have put to rest speculation over the fate of the 79th Golden Globes after the HFPA was flooded into turmoil by a source report in February pointing out the organisation's questionable internal practices and its lack of diversity.

Matters became serious when Tom Cruise returned the three Golden Globes, which he had won in the 1990s and even Scarlett Johansson added her voice to growing criticism of the HFPA.

The organisation said that they had cleaned up its act under its new German president.
