National Film Awards: Kangana Ranaut Declared Best Actress for Manikarnika and Panga

The winners of the 67th National Film Awards were announced, Kangana Ranaut bagged the Best Actress in a Feature Film. She is awarded for her performances in films like Manikarnika and Panga. Kangana played the warrior queen Rani Laxmi Bai in Manikarnika, she was seen as an ageing kabbadi player in Panga. Kangana always made headlines for her controversial tweets and her allegation against nepotism in the industry. She was also very vocal for Sushant suicide in the industry.


For the Best Actor category, Manoj Bajpayee and Dhanush shared the award for Bhonsle and Asuran. Sushant Singh Rajput's last theatrical release Chhichhore, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, won the best Hindi film award, Asuran won for best Tamil film and Jersey won for best Telugu film.


The awards were initially declared to be held in May last year but were delayed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic. The awards are held by the Directorate of Film Festivals, an organization that comes under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
