Pawandeep Rajan who lives in Uttarakhand at Champawat district has won the title of the 'Indian Idol Season 12' at the 'The Greatest Finale Ever' of the Sony Entertainment Television reality show late on Sunday night.
Pawandeep took home a prize money of rupees 25 lakh along with his Indian Idol trophy and a Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire car after being declared winner.
Rajan after winning the title said that an artist needs a platform where he can showcase talent to the world and 'Indian Idol' is one such "great platform".
Rajan also says that it was his dream thag came true to be a part of 'Indian Idol' and then being a part of the Top 6 finalists was wonderful, but winning the title is just unbelievable for him.
He said, "I still feel like I'm dreaming and cannot come to terms with reality. It's still sinking in. This is such a big honour for me. I
Ranjan was praised a lot during the reality show for being focused on his performance and remembers the first day when he came for the audition.
He recalled the times from audition and says that was so nervous and was shivering while performing and when was at backstage, he was thinking, "Will I even get selected?"
But then he cleared the audition and from there reaching up to this level which is a great feeling, he said.
Ranjan concluded by expressing gratitude to everyone who had been a part of his journey. He thanked the makers ,musicians, coaches, fellow contestants of the show and said that the trophy belongs to all of them.
He also thanked the citizens of India for voting him and giving the best feeling.
Arunita Kanjilal declared the first runner-up of the show and Sayli Kamble, the second runner-up, and were awarded a cheque of rupees 5 lakh each.
