Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) launched its online streaming platform ZEE5 in the US market on Tuesday.
The announcement of the launch was made by ZEE5 Global Chief Business Officer Archana Anand and globally admired actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas in a virtual event.
ZEE Entertainment President, Digital Businesses & Platforms, Amit Goenka said,"We have a long association of over two decades with this market, bringing our viewers here the best of Indian entertainment through our channels. With ZEE5, we now look to offer both these audiences and the younger demographic access to a much wider choice of premium content."
The U.S. is the largest launch for ZEE5, setting up a stage for its rapid growth in a market with a ready 5.4 million diaspora audience which will be bridge to different Asian cultures and languages and who will connect to this content.
The audience will be accessing over 130,000 hours of exclusively curated Indian, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi entertainment content. The platform will also offer the access over 20 Years of Iconic TV Shows including Latest Dramas, New Original Shows, Indian Language Films & Bollywood, World Digital Premieres and much more.
After US launch Archana Anand said that Canada would be another focus market for ZEE5. She added, “They would also be launching its campaign in Canada, thereby kicking off its marketing in the country."
