Amazon ban sales of RAVPower power banks, Taotronics earphones and VAVA cameras amid crackdown on fake review by Amazon under effective from June 16, reported by South China Morning Post (SCMP).
The three brands are Shenzhen-based electronics company, Sunvalley. The suspension came after the brands were found to be offering gift cards to customers willing to write positive reviews about their purchase which is reportedly in violation of the rules of the Amazon platform. This is a frequently practiced in the Chinese e-commerce world.
Amazon had taken similar action against other Chinese merchants for violating its rules on fake customer reviews, including a brand backed by TikTok owner ByteDance.
SCMP reported past months that product listings from few of the biggest Chinese electronic gadget sellers have vanished from
Amazon's online market place.
Amazon has a 'zero-tolerance' policy towards such violations and its latest action has garnered wide public attention in China because of the number of big vendors involved.
Amazon had shut down thousands of stores almost everyday for violating the review system.
