Roughly after a month of resigning as the Chairman of the telecom company Vodafone Idea, Kumar Mangalam Birla has met Union Minister for Communications Ashwini Vaishnav.
This comes after when the government is in talks to come up with few aid measures for the stressed telecom sector as a whole.
As per to the people who knows about the matter has said, during the meeting on Wednesday, the Birla and Vaishnav discussed about the health of the telecom sector and the immediate need for government interference.
The board of Vodafone Idea on August 4 had accepted the request of Birla to step down as the Non-Executive Director and Non-Executive Chairman of the Board.
Days before the resignation of Kumar Mangalam Birla as the Chairman, it had became public that he had written to the Cabinet Secretary that he wishes to hand over his stake in the debt-ridden company to government officials in an attempt to keep the company operational.
