Domestic indices trade on flat note; Sensex opens in losses, Nifty above 17300

Domestic benchmarks opened the day on a flat note, but soon trading mix.

Indian share market benchmark indices Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex and broader NSE Nifty 50 began the day flat, moving between gains and losses.

 

S&P Sensex was hovering around 58,200 mark while the broader Nifty 50 was just above 17,300.

 

By 10:54 am, the BSE Sensex was up 38.19 points or 0.066 percent at 58,288 and broader Nifty 50 index up 4.95 points or 0.023 percent to 17,357.

 

The broader markets were trading mixed too as Nifty Midcap 50 was down in red and Nifty Smallcap 50 was trading with gains. India VIX was close to 14 levels.

 

Nestle India price was up 1.99 percent as the top BSE Sensex gainer, followed by Bharti Airtel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finserv, SBI and ITC.

 

Axis Bank is the top dragger followed by Tech Mahindra, Titan, Infosys and Dr Reddy’s Labs.

 

In the international market, US equities ended flat in the overnight session.

 

And, the Asian market benchmarks, bourses in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul were trading in red in mid-session deals, while Shanghai was trading with gains.
