Gold falls on weak global cues

Gold prices fell in India on Tuesday amids weak cues from the international market.

India Gold Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) October futures trade lower on Tuesday as the international spot prices ended on a flat note on retracement in US dollar and treasury yields.


On the MCX, October gold contracts were trading 0.31 per cent lower at rupees 47,939 for 10 grams. September silver futures were trading 0.55 per cent lower at rupees 67,831 per kg.


Gold rates in financial capital and national capital for 22-carat per 10 grams is rupees 47,380 and rupees 47,150, respectively.


While, the gold prices in Chennai is rupees 45,330 per 10 gram of 22-carat and in Kolkata is rupees 47,400 per 10 gram for 22-carat.


In the international yellow metal market, spot gold fell by 0.1 per cent to USD 1,810 per ounce and the US gold futures dropped 0.5 per cent to USD 1,813.
