Gold, silver rates edge higher in Indian markets

Spot gold was sold at rupees 47,846 while silver was priced at rupees 68,585

On Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), Gold were trading rupees 59 up at rupees 47,833 per 10 gram for 22-carat gold. Silver was trading 0.22 per cent higher at rupees 69,531 per kilogram.


Gold prices in the business city Mumbai is rupees 46,700 per 10 gram of 22-carat and rupees 47,700 per 10 gram of 24-carat.


While in National capital Delhi 22-carat gold is rupees 46,790 per 10 gram of and rupees 50,840 per 10 gram of 24-carat.


Gold price in Chennai and Kolkata for 10 gram of 22-carat gold is rupees 45,060 and rupees 47,370, respectively. While for 10 gram of 24-carat gold is rupees 49,160 in Chennai and rupees 50,070 in Kolkata.


A gold price in India varies in different states and cities due to different taxes and charges.


In the international market, gold rates remained steady and spot gold was up by 0.1 per cent to USD 1,807 per ounce and US gold futures was also up by 0.1 per cent to USD 1,808 per ounce.
