Indian share market benchmarks Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex and broader NSE Nifty 50 were trading nearly half a per cent higher on Tuesday.
The BSE Sensex was trading 244 points or 0.46 per cent, and hits a fresh record high at 53,195 in initial deals, while, NSE Nifty advanced 56 points or 0.36 per cent to 15,942.
Asian Paints was the top index gainer, surging over 3 per cent, followed by Titan, PowerGrid, HDFC, M&M, RIL, Bajaj Finserv Tech Mahindra were among others.
While the HCL Tech, Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank and NTPC were among the losers in the index pack.
Besides Nifty Media and Nifty Metal indices and all the sectoral indices were trading in the green territory while, Nifty FMCG rose 0.6 per cent and Nifty IT index 0.5 per cent.
On the global side Asian equities, bourses in Tokyo and Hong Kong were trading in the red in mid-session deals, while Shanghai and Seoul were trading green.
