Indian share market benchmarks indices Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex and broader NSE Nifty 50 were trading volatile on Wednesday.
The 30-share Sensex was hovering around 59,000, while the broader Nifty gave up 17600 after few minutes going into trade.
The BSE Sensex traded 136.76 points or 0.23 percent up at 59,142. While, Nifty was up 42.70 points or 0.24 percent to 17,604.
Nifty Media breached over 7 percent while Bank Nifty was trading in deep red.
Tech Mahindra was the top gainer, rising up by 4.24 percent, followed by NTPC, HCL Technologies, Titan Company, IndusInd Bank, Sun Pharma, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti and TCS were among the other top BSE Sensex gainers.
Zee Entertainment equities were locked in a 10 percent at rupees 281.20 per share, after the firm announced to merge with Sony Pictures.
Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) was the top loser, declining 1.25 percent, followed by Axis Bank, Dr Reddy’s Labs and Nestle India were among the other top Sensex laggards.
Meanwhile in the international market, the Asian benchmarks, bourses in Shanghai and Tokyo were trading in deep red. Hong Kong and Seoul remained closed.
And, US equities closed on a mixed note in overnight session.
