Under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting held on Saturday that granted in-principle nod to ten industrial investment proposals predicting a investment of nearly rupees 2171.82 crore and direct employment opportunities for around 5,242 persons across the state.
Apart from this, the projects will generate many more indirect employment opportunities and will boost the economic activities in different parts of the state.
Giving an in-principle approval to the proposals, Chief Secretary Mahapatra has directed the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) to do a scientific evaluation of the actual requirement of land and water for the units for reform the land use.
All the concerned departments were also asked to ease the early grounding of the projects through speedy clearances and approvals.
Hemant Kumar Sharma, the Principal Secretary while presenting the details of the investment proposals has said, "The Proposals were mainly from the sectors like cement grinding, ethanol production, food processing, tourism, coal tar and renewable energy".
Sharma even precis the financial and technical credibility of the industrial houses that submitted the proposals.
Bhoopinder Singh Poonia, the MD of the Industrial Promotion & Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL) has presented project-wise details for meeting.
Poonia said that the committee had given a pass the proposal of My Home Industries Pvt Ltd (MHPL) to set up a 3 MTPA Cement Grinding unit in Jajpur district with an investment of rupees 650 crores and employment potential for more than 750 persons.
Poonia said the nod by the committee for the L N Metallics Ltd's in Jharsuguda district with an investment of rupees 205 crores and employment opportunities for more than 571 persons.
The MD of IPICOL Poonia added that Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel India Ltd to set up a Riverine Jetty at Udayabata, Jagatsinghpur with an investment of rupees 150 crores and employment potential for more than 280 persons.
Speaking further he said, that the committee had also gave nod to the proposal of Mash Bio Fuels Pvt Ltd with an investment of rupees 258.05 crores and would generate employment for more than 300 persons.
The proposal of Vibrant Spirits Pvt Ltd was also approved by the committee with an investment of rupees 100 crores and employment potential for more than 2,250 persons
Followed by VCI Chemical Industries Pvt Ltd and Ramco Cements Ltd with an investment of rupees 210 crores and 190 crores and employment opportunities for more than 157 persons and 60 persons, respectively were approvedby the committee.
The other projects that were approved by the committee included, A 5-star Hotel by Luxurio Assets Pvt Ltd with an investment of rupees 181.60 crores and employment opportunities for 224 persons which will be set up in Khurdha district.
Followed by a luxury resort by Lalchand Resort Pvt Ltd against an investment of rupees 119.67 crores and employment opportunities for more than 350 persons in Khurdha district.
And, a 4-star hotel in the industrial estate of Khurdha district, to be set up by Sailabala Infrastructure Pvt Ltd with an investment of rupees 107.50 crores and employment potential for more than 300 persons.
