Petrol, diesel prices hiked again, petrol nears Rs 110-mark in Delhi

Petrol now costs rupees 109.69 a litre in the national capital and diesel rupees 98.42 per litre

Fuel prices were hiked for the sixth straight day across the country on Monday.
 
The latest increase mirrors the continuous increase in the global oil prices has pushed pump rates across the country to their highest-ever levels.
 
As per to a price notification by the state-controlled oil marketing companies (OMCs), petrol and diesel rates were hiked by 35 paise per litre each.
 
Petrol now costs rupees 109.69 a litre in the national capital and diesel rupees 98.42 per litre.
 
While, in Mumbai petrol is now price at rupees 115.50 and diesel at rupees 106.62.
 
As for Kolkata, petrol and diesel cost rupees 110.15 and rupees 106.35 per litre, respectively. In Chennai petrol priced at rupees 101.56 and diesel at rupees 102.59.
 
Fuel prices differ from state to state, depending on the local taxes, freight charges, cost of transportation and other local taxes.
 
Petrol price has been hiked for 26 times since September 28,and  prices have gone up by nearly rupees 8.15 per litre. While, diesel prices has been increased by rupees 9.45 per litre in 29 occasion since September 24.
