Retail major Walmart targets USD 10 billion annual exports from India

Under the Walmart Vriddhi Supplier Development Programme has trained over 2,500 MSMEs

Global retail major Walmart, has been undertaking extensive training programmes for MSMEs with Flipkart, on Wednesday announced the plans to triple its exports from India to USD 10 billion annually by 2027.
 
Under the Walmart Vriddhi Supplier Development Programme (Walmart Vriddhi), the retail major has trained over 2,500 MSMEs so far in modern business management frameworks to allow them to modernize as well as to become part of the digital retail revolution.
 
Leigh Hopkins, Executive Vice President, International Strategy, Development and Asia Region said that the global retail major has an ongoing commitment of tripling exports from India by 2027 to USD 10 billion annually, and they have been looking forward to support more small businesses in their efforts by providing potential access to online and offline markets in India and globally.
 
Hopkins said at an online event to mark the graduation of over 2,500 MSMEs, who have been completed the first phase of the Walmart Vriddhi training programme.
 
The different phases in the training programme was delivered by partner Swasti, gave MSMEs access to enhance the business tools and strategies, as well as one-on-one expert consultation to help them unlock their entrepreneurial capacity, modernize their business, as well as thrive.
