Indian share market benchmarks Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex and broader NSE Nifty 50 were trading in the positive territory on Thursday, a day of weekly F&O expiry.
The BSE Sensex was trading 175 points or 0.31 percent up at 57,513.51 and the NSE Nifty 50 advanced 81 points or 0.47 percent to 17,157.
Nifty sectoral indices were trading on a mix side. Bank Nifty declines 0.11 percent to 36,533, while Nifty Auto, Nifty Private Bank and Nifty Realty were also trading on a fragile side.
Dr. Reddy’s Labs was the top Sensexgainer, rising 2.31 percent, followed by Titan Company, UltraTech Cement, Tata Steel, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and HDFC.
Bajaj Auto, HCL Tech, Asian Paints, Power Grid Corporation of India, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Maruti Suzuki were among top index laggards.
In the global market, the Asian shares, bourses in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Tokyo were trading with gains in mid-session deals, while Seoul was trading in the red.
