Indian share market benchmarks Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex and broader NSE Nifty 50 were trading in the green on Thursday.
The BSE Sensex jumped over 200 points and was trading 224 points or 0.43 per cent higher at 52,668 in initial deals, while the broader NSE Nifty 50 rose 62 points or 0.39 per cent to 15,771.
HCL Tech was the top index gainer, rose over 2 per cent followed by Titan, Tech Mahindra, M&M, Asian Paints, Reliance Industries and IndusInd Bank.
While Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Auto, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Nestle India, PowerGrid and HDFC and among the index laggards.
All the sectoral indices of Nifty were trading in the green territory by Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty IT while, Bank Nifty was up 0.41 per cent.
In a statement, Asian shares managed a pretense of calm as the United States Federal Reserve signalled it was in no rush to taper stimulus and said accelerating inflation remained the result of "transitory factors".
