Sensex over 150 points, Nifty crosses 16,300

Domestic share market benchmarks were trading in the green on Monday

Indian equity market benchmarks Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex and broader NSE Nifty 50 were trading nearly half a per cent up on Monday.

 

The Sensex surged over 186 points or 0.34 percent higher to 54,464 while broader Nifty 50 grew around 62 points or 0.38 percent to 16,303.

 

M&M was the top index gainer, breaching 2 percent, followed by Tech, Titan, Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank and Asian Paints.

 

Kotak Bank, Reliance Industries, Dr Reddy’s laboratories and HDFC Bank were among the index laggards.

 

Bank Nifty was up nearly half a per cent and Nifty Auto rised over one per cent. While, Nifty Metal fell down 0.75 percent and Nifty Pharma 0.4 percent.

 

While Asian shares, in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Seoul were trading in the green territory in mid-session deals.
