The Indian equity market benchmarks Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex and Nifty 50 added to the early gains and were trading half a per cent higher in Wednesday's morning deals.
BSE Sensex gained 280 points or 0.52 per cent at 52,830 levels and the Nifty50 index gained 60.15 points or 0.38 per cent at topped 15,800 mark.
Maruti was the top gainer in the BSE Sensex pack rising over 1 per cent, followed by Titan, Infosys, Tata Steel, M&M, Asian Paints and Nestle India.
On the other side, PowerGrid, NTPC, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank and HUL were among the top laggards.
Equity market benchmarks in Asia, bourses in Shanghai, Seoul and Tokyo were trading with gains in the mid-session deals, while Hong Kong was trading in the red. Equities on Wall Street as well, ended on a positive note in the overnight session.
