The Indian share market benchmarks Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex and broader NSE Nifty 50 were trading at record high levels on Wednesday.
The BSE Sensex was up 171 points or 0.30 percent at 57,723 and the NSE Nifty 50 index was up with 42 points or 0.25 percent at 17,174.
The benchmarks Sensex surged to a record high of 57,919 and Nifty 50 hit a high of 17,226 in the opening sessions.
Aside from Nifty Metal index, all the sectoral indices were trading in gains. Bank Nifty gained 0.63 percent taking the index above 36,650 level.
Asian Paints is the top BSE Sensex gainer, rising over 3.97 percent, followed by Axis bank, Bajaj-Auto, Nestle India, L&T, HUL, ICICI Bank and Titan Company.
Tata Steel is worst performing stock in the Sensex, fell 2.14 percent, followed by Kotak Mahindra Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Bharti Airtel and M&M.
In the Asian market, bourses in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul were trading with gains in mid-session deals.
On the other side of the US equities traded with mild losses in the overnight session.
