Indian stock market benchmark Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex and broader NSE Nifty 50 started the day’s trade with gains on Monday.
The BSE Sensex surged over 300 points and was trading 333 points or 0.63 per cent higher at 52,920 in initial deals while the broader NSE Nifty 50 advanced 101 points or 0.64 per cent to 15,864.
Titan was the best-performing stock in the Sensex pack surging around 2 per cent followed by Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, HDFC, Reliance Industries, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys and Maruti Suzuki.
While Tech Mahindra, Sun Pharma, NTPC, PowerGrid and Dr Reddy’s laboratory were among the index laggards.
Bank Nifty was above 34,800 gaining 0.66 per cent. Broader markets were trading in gains, India VIX was up 1 per cent.
While the Asian shares, bourses in Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong were trading with gains in mid-session deals.
