Sensex trades flat, Nifty at 17,700

Domestic share market benchmarks were dancing between gains and losses on Thursday.

Indian share market benchmark indices started trading on the monthly F&O expiry session in the green but soon slipped to trade with losses.
The BSE Sensex was trading 7.23 points or 0.012 percent higher at 59,420. Similarly, the NSE Nifty 50 declined 11.90 points or 0.067 percent to 17,699.
Bank Nifty was trading 0.4 percent lower during the initial hour of trade while midcap and smallcap indices continue to trade upwards.
Bharti airtel was the top gainer on Sensex, up 1.53 percent, followed by Dr Reddy’s Labs, NTPC, HUL, Larsen & Toubro and Sun Pharma.
On the other end, Power Grid Corporation  was down 1.61 percent as the top laggard, followed by Kotak Mahindra Bank, Maruti, Bajaj Auto, Reliance Industries and Tata Steel.
In the international market, the Asian benchmarks, bourses in Shanghai and Seoul were outperforming in mid-session deals, while Hong Kong and Tokyo were trading with the losses.
