Indian share market benchmarks Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex and broader NSE Nifty 50 started the day’s trade surging higher on Monday.
After breaching to 59,156 in the opening session, the BSE Sensex was trading at 693.67 points or 1.18 percent higher at 59,459. Similarly, NSE Nifty 50 rose 194.90 points or 1.1 percent to 17,726.
Broader markets were outperforming benchmarks, India VIX was also gaining 1 percent.
NTPC was the best performing Sensex stock, rising 2. 61 percent followed by M&M, Dr Reddy’s Labs, State Bank of India, Reliance Industries and Sun Pharma.
Titan was the top laggard, down 0.15 percent and followed by Tata Steel, down by 0.09 percent.
In the international market, the Asian indices, bourses in Hong Kong and Tokyo were trading with heavy losses in the mid-session deals, while Shanghai and Seoul bourses were closed for holidays.
