Indian share market benchmarks Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex and broader NSE Nifty 50 were trading flat on Thursday, a day of F&O expiry of August contracts.
The BSE Sensex declined as much as 90 points to hit an intraday low of 55,854 and NSE Nifty 50 index touched an intraday low of 16,611.
Bank Nifty fell nearly one percent while Nifty Metal was down half a percent. Nifty IT index gained 0.7 percent.
HUL was the top BSE Sensex gainer, rising 1.59 percent, followed by Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), HCL tech and Asian Paints.
On the other side of the table, Bharti Airtel was the top BSE Sensex loser, fell 2.17 percent, followed by Maruti Suzuki, Power Grid Corporation of India, Titan Company and Dr Reddy’s Labs.
In the Asian market, bourses in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Seoul were trading with losses in mid-session deals, while Tokyo was trading with gains.
