The automobile giant Tata Motors' senior officials met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Monday.
As per to the Tamil Nadu government, the Tata Motors delegation was led by its Executive Director Girish Wagh.
Though, the agenda of the meeting was still not known.
The meeting comes after Ford India Private Limited has decided to closed down its factory here and is on the look out for a buyers for the facility.
While Tata Motors Ltd does not have a production facility in south and it has plants at different places in west and north.
The workers of Ford India Pvt Ltd are hoping that the Tamil Nadu government will take some action to protect their livelihood.
At the same time, Tata Projects Ltd said that it has secured an order of nearly rupees 2,100 crore for Phase 1 of the Chennai Peripheral Ring Road Project (Northern Port Access Road) that strategically connects the key Ennore Port with Thatchur on AH-45.
In which, it also a road linked to the Chennai Outer Ring Road from the Northern Port Access Road.
The six-lane project is a 25.38 kilometres long that includes a 1.4 kilometres bridge over Buckingham Canal, and is aimed for completion in three years.
This major project will reduce traffic jam and travel time, at the same time it will enhance the road safety and operational efficiency of highways.
