TikTok is still waiting for its come back in India. It is due to the new IT rules of India, TikTok India seems to be hoping for its return.
This comes at a time when US President Joe Biden cancelled the order of former President Donald Trump to ban TikTok in America. In such a situation, parent company ByteDance Inc. looking forward to returning to India.
The parent company ByteDance has also wrote a letter to the country’s IT ministry in early June, stating that even though TikTok India is no longer operating, it is still new. Intermediary is fully following the guidelines. ByteDance now is waiting for a reply from the ministry.
As of now, no official reply has been given publicly by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India till now, nor has the ministry commented on it.
India had banned 250 apps after clashes with China in the Galvan Valley in June last year, including Tik Tok. Most of these apps were of Chinese origin. The Government had earlier banned only 59 apps, then by issuing a second list, 250 apps were banned. Tiktok was included in the first 59 apps to be banned.
The government had said “these apps are injurious to the sovereignty and integrity of India, the defense of India, the security of the state and public order.”
