Village industry turnover will be increased to 5 lakh crore: Nitin Gadkari

CII in partnership with the Ministry of MSME organized the 17th edition of the Global MSME virtual Business Summit

Union Minister for MSME Nitin Gadkari while addressing the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Global MSME Business Summit, has said, “Presently, the turnover of our village industry is Rs 80,000 crores. My mission is to make it Rs 5 lakh crores in 2 years.”

He has also added that “Presently, the MSME sector employs 11 crore people. Our target is to create 5 crores more jobs in the next 5 years.”

Further, he said that “For making Atmanirbhar  Bharat, the most important target for the ministries is to make Indian economy strong and for that reason, we need to increase more export at the same time we need to decrease the import.”

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with the Ministry of MSME organized the 17th edition of the Global MSME Business Summit virtually from Wednesday 9th December to Thursday 10th December 2020. The 17th Global SME Business Summit 2020 is envisaged as a platform to develop a conducive mentoring environment for MSMEs, attaining operational excellence in manufacturing and services even post covid.
