The quick service restaurant line Wow! Momo has entered into the fast moving consumer goods segment with the launch of its frozen momos.
Wow! Momo has launch five different flavours in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian which will be available in packs of 10s and 20s. The company claims that these products are preservative free with a serviceable life of nine months.
As per the news reports, the company has tied up with BigBasket for the initial distribution, after which the company will be selling its products in all the super markets across the country.
The Co Founder and CEO of Wow! Momo, Sagar Daryani in an interview with a leading daily said that the company wants to be a part of every grocery order in the country.
He further added that the company is targeting annual revenue of rupees 500 crore in the next five years from its packaged food business and also plans to expand into multiple categories like condiments and snacks.
The Co-Founder and CEO of BigBasket, Hari Menon said that the ready-to-eat category of foods is picking up majorly as people are spending more time at home due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Menon further added, "Our aim has always been to bring quality products to our consumers and we look forward to a long-term association with them."
Indian consumers' consumption of ready-to-eat and frozen foods has increased following the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Wow! Momo also partnered with Café Coffee Day (CCD) to sell its products across the selected outlets in 2020.
Wow!Momo was founded in 2008 by Sagar Daryani and Binod Homagai and is more likely to compete with Prasuma that launched its ready to eat momos in 2019.
