Jammu and Kashmir launched an all women exclusive COVID-19 infection vaccination centre called 'pink booth' in the Udhampur district hospital.
The pink booth was inaugurated on July 17 by the deputy commissioner of Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib who especially appealed the pregnant women to get vaccinated as it extremely important for the fight against COVID-19.
The dedicated booth is said to fast track the long queues for vaccination and also to boost inoculations among women. ANI reported that the pink booth will ensures that women don't have to face any kind of hesitancy or hassle in getting their vaccine dosage with health workers prioritising vaccination for them.
The booth will ensures smooth functioning with an all-female staff has been deployed to ensure processes like registration and inoculation that ensures the safety and comfort of the women beneficiaries.
Jyoti Devi, a health worker at the district hospital of Udhampursaid that discomfort faced by women at the inoculation centre has been resolved with the setting up of a 'pink booth'. Jyoti Devi also said,"Women and girls are happy to know that they got a special corner for vaccination. More women are visiting the hospital for vaccination."
Dr Vijay Raina who is the Medical Superintendent at the district hospital said that this initiative aims to give women and girls their separate space for vaccination. Being positive about the initiative he said "In the coming days, this concept will attract a lot of people."
An all pink theme has been kept with the interiors, giving it an attractive look and also receiving good responses from several women who showed up at the site to get their vaccine administered.
The women also emphasized the comfortable environment and the thoughtful initiative of the dedicated authorities for the creation of this special booth.
