80% of mumbai's eligible citizens received at least one dose covid vaccine : bmc

BMC Commissioner added that nearly 30 percent of eligible citizens in Mumbai has received both the doses of vaccine

Iqbal Singh Chahal, the Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has said on Saturday that so far 1.3 lakh Covid-19 vaccines doses were administered in the Mumbai district

 

As per to BMC Commissioner, not less than 80 percent of adult population of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) have taken at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

 

BMC Commissioner Chahal added that nearly 30 percent of eligible citizens in Mumbai has received both the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

 

The BMC Commissioner further said, "I salute private hospitals of Mumbai for their great help and participation in vaccination drive."

 

Chahal also said that proper vaccination alongside the habit of wearing masks can save people from the probable third wave of the contagious Covid-19 pandemic.

 

As per to the CoWin website, so far a total of 1,02,41,073 doses of coronavirus vaccines, making Mumbai the first district to administer over 1 crore coronavirus vaccines.
