Pramod Sawant who is Chief Minister of Goa has provided financial aid of rupees 2 lakh to the families who had lost their lives due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
As per the state government health bulletin, a total of 3,166 people have lost their battle to Covid-19.
CM Pramod Sawant to Twitter and wrote, "We have started providing the ex-gratia to the families from today, the marginalize families whose income is below five lakh will be receiving the ex gratia from the schemes and the centre has announced such schemes for them."
Sawant said on Friday that over 55 people in the token system were provided the ex-gratia by the ministry of social welfare and about 2,500 people should be benefited from this scheme in the state.
The CM said that the families who are registering will receive the ex gratia within a week.
Goa's Covid-19 infection caseload has rose to 1,72,276 and the count of recovered patients has breached to 1,68,117 and now has 993 total Covid-19 active cases.
