Former West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya has tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. Along with him his wife Mira Bhattacharya, also tested positive for the virus, following which she had been admitted to a city hospital on late Tuesday evening.
Doctors have advised the 77 year old politician to be in home isolation, and confirmed by health department sources.
The Swab samples of Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, his wife and their attendant were collected and they tested positive for the disease according to a source quoted on Tuesday.
A medical board has also been formed for Mrs Bhattacharya at the hospital.
Doctors are checking the former chief minister at home and they are constantly monitor his health condition.
