India begins unlock on major scale from today

Let’s see which states and UT’s have opened what services from today.

Now as the corona graph is reaching nadir day by day with dip in daily infection, the government ease the restrictions from Monday. While some states have relaxed much of the restrictions, there are many which are carefully reopening activities and services amidst Covid restriction.

Maharashtra the worst hit during second wave, have started a five-phased unlock will begin from Monday, starting with 18 of the state's 36 districts. These district include Aurangabad, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Dhule, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Jalgaon, Jalna, Latur, Nagpur, Nanded, Nashik, Parbhani, Thane, Washim, Wardha and Yavatmal districts, where normal activities will be resumed.

 

Delhi, another worst hit state witness surging death rate, also undergoing unlock process. The Metro train services will resume with 50 per cent seating capacity only. Malls, markets and market complexes (except weekly markets) will open between 10 am to 8 pm on odd-even basis in accordance with their shop numbers. All individual and neighbourhood shops in residential complexes will be permitted to open on all days without any distinction of essential and non-essential goods or services. Private offices can open with 50 per cent manpower. In govt. office, all Group A officers will work while only 50 per cent staff of other categories will attend office.

 

Uttar Pradesh has also relaxed restrictions in 71 districts, but the curfew will continue to remain in force in four districts - Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Saharanpur and Meerut. Shops and markets have been allowed to open for five days a week outside containment zones in Varanasi, Muzaffarnagar, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad. A two-day weekly curfew will be imposed in all 75 districts of the state.

 

Tamil Nadu, another top listed state in Covid infection ease restriction, 11 districts in Tamil Nadu that have been exempted from restriction include Kovai, Nilgiris, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Mayiladuthurai. Shops selling vegetables, grocery, meat and fish, roadside shops selling vegetables, fruits and flowers can function between 6 am and 5 pm. Government offices can function with 30 per cent employees.


Apart from that Haryana and Uttarakhand also easing restriction. Restaurants and bars, including in hotels and malls, are allowed to open from 10 am to 8 pm with 50 per cent seating capacity. Shops are allowed to open from 9 am to 6 pm following the odd-even policy. Malls can now remain open till 8 pm. Religious places are now allowed to open with 21 people at a time. Corporate offices are permitted to open with 50 per cent attendance. Gatherings of 21 people are allowed at weddings, funerals and cremations.


In Uttarakhand too General stores will be open from 8 am to 1 pm between June 9 and June 14. Retail shops will open for two days this week, the liquor shops will be opened for three days. On June 9 and June 14, grocery shops will be opened from 8 am to 1 pm, while on June 9, 11, and 14, liquor shops will be opened from 8 am to 1 pm.
