PM Modi announces special package for children orphaned by COVID pandemic

The central government will also ensure free education for such children.

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a major announcement.

 

PM Modi said that children who have been orphaned due the coronavirus pandemic will be assisted under the PM Cares for Children scheme. Such children will be given a monthly stipend at the age of 18 and a fund of Rs 10 lakh from PM Cares at the age of 23.

 

 

The central government will also ensure free education for such children. This information is given by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

 

It also stated that children who have lost their mothers and fathers due to coronavirus will be given loan assistance for higher education. Its interest will be paid from PM Cares Fund. Along with this, they will also get free health insurance of Rs 5 lakh for 18 years. Its premium will also be paid from PM Cares Fund.
