In a scathing attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his repeated gaffe on no dedicated ministry to deal with the issues of fishermen. Shah, while campaigning for the Puducherry Assembly elections in Karaikal today, criticised for not knowing that a fisheries department came into existence two years ago.
Speaking at a public rally, the Bharatiya Janata Party leader said that the Congress leader was on vacation when the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) formed the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying in 2019.
Questioning former Congress chief's capability to govern the Puducherry, Shah said, "The Congress is alleging that the BJP brought down their government here. I want to ask the people of Puducherry, the party whose leader has been in the Lok Sabha for four terms, he does not even know that the fisheries department has been in the country for two years. Can that party be responsible for welfare of Puducherry?"
