Bharatiya Janata Party “is full of greedy people who instigate riots: Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister and the chief of TMC party Mamata Banerjee lashes out the BJP government where addressing a rally in Alipurduar. She is on a four-day tour of North Bengal.
 
In the rally she said that Bharatiya Janata Party “is full of greedy people who instigate riots.”
 
She also said that there is no place for the corrupt in the TMC. “Those who are greedy have left. There is no place for such greedy people in TMC.There are no place for corrupt people in TMC and those who wish to leave the ruling party should do so immediately. Our party tickets are not for sale. Those who are with people will automatically get tickets. Our leaders are our booth workers.” after accusing the party members of initiating the riots. She also added, “Those who have deserted TMC will not win polls, their shops to get closed after Assembly election in Bengal.”
 
She also accused the Centre of doing nothing for the people of the northern districts of the state despite having "so many" BJP MPs from the region. Banerjee said that “before every election, BJP leaders make promises of reopening defunct tea gardens in North Bengal, but "flee" afterwards” in which BJP had hit back, claiming that her government failed to bring development in the region.
 
She also takes dig on the Centre over Budget 2021 proposal, and said, “Even 74 per cent of LIC is being sold now. They are selling everything. The Centre announced on February 1 that an initial public offering (IPO) of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) is on the cards”.
