'Chal Chitra', portrays pain of partitions in Kolkata pandal

As per the puja organisers, the pandal is made on the theme of pain of partitions

The division of India is one of the most heartbreaking and rough pages in Indian history and the partition of Bengal which was engulfed with violence and killings was the time of pain and suffering for many Bengalis who had to leave their birth place, properties and even family members behind to save their life.

The politics played by British and Muhammad Ali Jinnah caused the destruction which no one can alter. Lakhs of people migrated to West Bengal in order to live their life. 

This year  'Chal Chitra', portrays pain of partitions during 1947, 1971 in Kolkata pandal.

As per the puja organisers, the pandal is made on the theme of pain of partitions while it also reflects the present day pain of migration all over the world- Syria, Afghanistan, Africa, Latin America.

Artist Bhabatosh Sutar is behind the theme and they drew references from Khushwant Singh's famous novel ''Train to Pakistan'' and Atin Bandyopadhyay's ''Neelkantho Pakhir Khoje''. 

Devotees loved the pandal and the theme very much. The organizers even have portrayed a train coming with refugees from Pakistan to showcase the sufferings of the people and there is also continuous announcements going over calling the name of displaced people

The idol of Maa Durga looked beautiful with excellent blue lights highlighting her beauty.
