25% of fully vaccinated healthcare workers in Delhi affected with COVID: Study

The study was conducted by the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology

Researchers found that around 25 percent of healthcare workers got infected with coronavirus in spite of being fully vaccinated.

 

The study was conducted by the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB) along with Max hospitals in Delhi-NCR, who found that vaccination breakthroughs were happening more during the Delta-outbreak in Delhi but they also said that the severity of the infection was prominently low and vaccination is very much crucial to avoid severe illnesses.

 

Shantanu Sengupta, who is a senior scientist with the IGIB and also warned that the majority of healthy people infected were asymptomatic which makes it important to arrest the spread of infection.

 

The vaccination is the most important measure to Counter covid and so the government is rushing to vaccinate the health workers as well the citizens against Covid-19.
