Baba Ramdev, had landed in controversy a few days ago when he stated allopathy as ‘stupid science’, which irked the doctor and other healthcare workers.
Now another video of the yoga guru has emerged on social media in which he is seen challenging the authorities to arrest him.
He seen saying: “Khair, arrest toh unka baap bhi nahi kar sakta Swami Ramdevko (Even their father can’t arrest Swami Ramdev). They keep creating such trends, like ‘Thug Ramdev’, MahathugRamdev’, ‘GiraftarRamdev’. Let them do it. Our people have become accustomed to such trends and our trends always reach the top.”
This is in response to the #Arrest Ramdev trends on social media. This comes after the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Wednesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding that Ramdev be booked under sedition charges for alleged misinformation campaign on vaccination and challenging government protocols for treatment of Covid-19.
The body also served a defamation notice on Ramdev for his remarks against allopathy and allopathic practitioners, demanding an apology from him within 15 days, failing which it said it will demand a compensation of Rs 1,000 crore.
Though on Sunday, Ramdev was forced to withdraw the statement after Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan asked him to withdraw the "extremely unfortunate" statement.
A day later, Ramdev also posted 25 questions to the IMA in an 'open letter' on his Twitter handle, asking if allopathy offered permanent relief for ailments such as hypertension and type-1 and 2 diabetes.
Soon after, Ramdev's close aide Acharya Balkrishna took to Twitter, saying “the yoga guru and Ayurveda were being targeted by allopathic practitioners under the IMA as part of a conspiracy”.
