Audi to launch electric e- tron range in next 2-3 months in India

The buyers can also place customised orders which would be delivered in about four months from the time of ordering.

The luxury car maker Audi is set to launch its fully electric sports utility vehicle e-tron and crossover e-tron Sportback in India in the next two to three months in India. The German based car manufacturer has already planned to launch the e-tron towards the end of the last year, but due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic the company is all set to launch the two EVs under the e-tron range simultaneously as it bets big on electric mobility in India.

Audi India Head Balbir Singh Dhillon told to reporters “We are launching the e-tron in India. Not just one model, we are going to launch two models- the e-tron and the e-tron Sport back. We are going to launch in the next two to three months. Right now we are in the process of planning this.” He also added “Out of the 30 global electrified vehicles, some of these models will make their way to India, not just the two models (e-Torn and e-Tron Sport back). In the times to come you will see more models to come into the country.”

Audi had announced a five-year plan under which it would launch 30 electrified vehicles, which includes 20 pure EVs and 10 plug-in hybrid vehicles by 2025. The Audi India head said “our confidence level in India, gives us the strength to launch multiple models in India."

Audi India will initially import "a decent quantity of vehicles", then buyers can also place customised orders which would be delivered in about four months from the time of ordering.
