Bus carrying over 50 passengers collides with truck on Delhi-Lucknow highway

Five people have lost their lives. The injured have been rushed to the hospital

A road accident on the Delhi-Lucknow highway near Moradabad has claimed lives on the spot. The exact casualty count is being ascertained. This happens when a private bus running between Punjab and Pilbhit collide with a truck from behind. The mishap took place at about 6 am today.


The injured persons have been admitted to Moradabad District Hospital but some of the injured are in critical condition. According to eyewitness accounts, there were about 50-60 passengers on the bus. The truck also carried about 20-25 people. According to one passenger "Our driver was stopped by the police. We were in the DCM pick-up. A bus was coming from behind. Three of our men have died - Ashish, Suresh and Nanhe. The other 20 are injured.”


The officials from the Pakbada police station of Moradabad has probed into the matter.


According to officials: "Five people have lost their lives. The injured have been rushed to the hospital. The death toll is being ascertained.”


The district administration has yet not released the official death toll as the focus is on saving the lives of the injured passengers.
