Complaint filed against GautamGambhir for 'hoarding' Fabiflu after 'free distribution' post

Gambhir has also given a justification after the complaint. He said: "If a few 100 strips of tablets obtained from a distributor are being given for free, then, can it be called hoarding?”

When the country is dealing with the hardship of rising corona cases and dealing with shortage of medical equipment, a complaint has been registered against Gautam Gambhir for allegedly ‘hoarding’ Fabiflu, a medicine used to treat mild-to-moderate Covid-19 disease.

LeherSethi, New Delhi-based resident, Social Activist and TedX Speaker on Thursday has registered this complaint against Gambhir, the 39-year old MP, on Twitter had himself informed about acquiring Fabiflu from his East Delhi office, free of cost.

This happens after GautamGambhir on Wednesday had announced the distribution of crucial Fabiflu free of cost at his office for the people of East Delhi. The move had received criticism of users on Twitter who had demanded the MP to step down from the post.

In her twitter handle Sethi said: “I have filed a complaint against @GautamGambhir for hoarding Fabiflu at a time when Delhi Residents are scrambling for it!This is deeply concerning also b’cos Pharmacies & chemists provide medication to patients 24/7 while Mr Gambhir is only making it available from 10 am-5 pm.” He was also criticized on Twitter before the complaint was registered.

Gambhir has also given a justification after the complaint. He said: "If a few 100 strips of tablets obtained from a distributor are being given for free, then, can it be called hoarding? Is my obtaining a few strips of Fabiflu causing the shortage? You can call me wrong but I'll do everything to save lives of people."
